I believe it has something to do with Notre Dame having a stake
in the "ownership" of the organization that runs the College Playoff and ran both the BCA and BCS. Basically, the College Playoff and BCS are the same organization, but under a different name. While the BCA is the BCS minus the Big Ten and Pac-10/12 because both conferences and the Rose Bowl decided that tradition was more important than making more money. It is even possible the BCA wouldn't have formed if Notre Dame had been unwilling to be a willing participant. [Post edited by VTHokie2000 at 05/06/2021 9:43PM]
